The Round Up: A Nashville Style Songwriters Round at the Folklore Rooms

The Round Up, hosted by Two Ways Home, is a Nashville-style songwriters round, a unique performance format where songwriters share the stage, playing their songs in turn and sharing the stories behind them. This intimate setting fosters collaboration, with artists often joining in on each other’s songs, offering a rare glimpse into their creative processes.

Featured Artists:

Entitled “Introducing Alex Francis,” the four-song collection features two covers alongside two new original compositions. With his raw, soulful vocal Alex offers a stunning stripped back take on Leona Lewis’“Bleeding Love,” alongside an elegant re-imagination of the Bob Dylan classic“Girl From The North Country.”The two new original songs seeAlex hitting new heights as a songwriter and have quickly become cornerstones of his live set. “We Beat As One” fuses atmospheric nostalgia with a driving modern pulse, while“Still”is a beautiful, brutally honest and emotionally charged duet with up and coming singer Hope Winter.  “Introducing Alex Francis” is a product of Alex’s collaboration with Grammy Award-winning production team of Mark Taylor and Patrick Mascall. Alex has toured with an array of internationally acclaimed artists including Sting, Alanis Morissette and Stereophonics. With over 30 million Spotify streams, his music has struck a chord with listeners globally, reflecting his rapidly expanding fan base. Showcasing his undeniable vocal talent, “Introducing Alex Francis” is set to ensure that trajectory continues in 2024.

Daisy Chute is a Grammy-award winning singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, often spotted wielding a guitar or banjo at many a festival and arts venue across the U.K. and beyond.

With a mix of Scottish and American heritage, Chute’s roots are transatlantic; her music is best described as folk and Americana, underpinned by her background in classical and jazz.

Two Ways Home, the Anglo-Austrian duo of Isabella (Vienna) and Lewis Folkner (Gloucestershire), have crafted a unique sound blending folk-rock with a country twist. Inspired by artists like Lady A, The Lumineers, and Fleetwood Mac, their catchy melodies, lush harmonies, and rocky guitars have earned them extensive media coverage and radio play across the UK and Europe. After a 35-show UK tour in 2019, they were crowned Artist of the Month” by Caffé Nero and again in 2023 after a standout performance at the Black Deer Festival.

Known for their dynamic live performances, Two Ways Home have played prestigious venues and festivals such as The Shard, Under the Bridge, C2C, The Long Road and Victorious Festival to name a few. Despite the pandemic, they focused on writing new material and performing online, winning ‘Best Duo/Group’ at the Country Music Spotlight Awards. With a string of new releases and a successful 'Round Up Tour' in 2023, the duo is creating an ever-growing buzz for their upcoming releases in 2024, promising more enticing shows and captivating performances.
